The Bad Boy IV 8k/5k at Van Cortlandt Park

For a runner what's better than NYC on Marathon weekend? Not running the marathon? Well this is the race for you. The Bad Boy 8k is a challenging cross country event on the world famous 8k VCP course.
We will have two races. One men's race and one women's race. The men's race will follow the women's race buy 40 minutes. The women's race will go off at 2:30PM and the men's race will go off at 3:10PM. The awards and prizes will be given out immediately following the completion of the men's race.
The Course: The course starts on the soccer fields, heads around the poles for the normal VCP 5k course, into the cow path, through the "back hills" loop and then back around the flats through the normal 5k finish. The race continues around the outside white poles again, back into the cow path, up over cemetery hill and then back across the flats towards the tortoise and hare statue and the finish line.
Individual Entry:$20 Entry After Oct 15th
Online entry closes at 5:00 PM on November 1st.
Subway: The last stop on the 1/9 in the Bronx drops you off 4 blocks south of the park on Broadway.

Post Race Party: Doc Gilberts across the street! Great Shepards pie for all.
Directions: The easiest way to get to the park is to take exit 23A off the Henry Hudson Parkway North. After exiting, the park is on your left and the sign up is at the tortoise and hare statue.
Other: All ability levels are welcomed. The course is difficult but certainly not impossible if you pace yourself. There will a water stop at the 5k mark.

Lowest cumulative score for 5 finishers - 8 can declare.

2nd - $200
3rd - $100
